Events at WAM

Warriors and Makers
Join Women and Mentoring at our next Warriors and Makers event, an opportunity to acknowledge the visionaries, supporters and inspiration to the WAM family (the WAMily).

So, who are these wonderful legends who started the process of this ground-breaking program?  Who were the pioneers, who were the visionaries who believed that a simple support system and human interaction could be the key to keeping women out of the legal system and reducing the recidivism rate?

Enjoy an evening of connection, inspiration and impact, with opportunities to meet like-minded supporters, and hear about the positive change created through the Ann Polis Empowerment Fund.

Courageous Conversations

A community event series that creates space for honest dialogue about the issues affecting women in contact with the criminal legal system.

Through lived experience stories, expert insights and open discussion, these conversations challenge stigma, build understanding and inspire action. Each event explores the barriers women face, the importance of early intervention and mentoring, and how communities can play a role in creating pathways to hope, healing and lasting change.

Courageous Conversation Topic: Too Complex? What happens when the people who most need support are told no one knows how to help.
Event details: Tuesday 14 July, 12.30-1.15pm, Sunshine Library (level 1)
